Slime Levels Guide: Understanding our 3 Slime Levels
There are levels to slime?! Well, kind of. You may have noticed that all of our slimes are marked either beginner, intermediate, or expert. These are just meant as guidelines since certain textures can be a little trickier to handle than others. Below, we´ll break down our three levels and how they relate to our different kinds of slimes.
1. BEGINNER
Beginner Slimes: Clay/Butter, Cloud, Cloud Cream, Icee, Memory Butter
Explanation: Beginner slimes are super easy to handle because they have a more holdable texture that doesn´t stick to hands. They are lightweight and can often be played with one-handed or absentmindedly since they dont ooze the way other slimes do.
Great For:
- Beginners or anyone buying their first slime
- Anyone who prefers a more clay-like and moldable texture
- Those who prefer the least sticky slime possible or anyone worried about the potential mess that a stickier slime could make
- Anyone who prefers to handle their slime with one hand (ie: while multitasking at a desk for stress/anxiety relief or simply to engage restless hands)
2. INTERMEDIATE
Intermediate Slimes: Jelly, Slay, Bingsu, Sand, Floam
Explanation: Intermediate slimes are also easy to play with but may require a little more agility than you´d expect if you´re not used to slime. These slimes are often slightly stickier than beginner slimes and can sometimes be dense, crunchy and/or packed with add-ins. You may need a bit of care and practice to learn how to inflate them and create all of the super satisfying ASMR crunches and pops.
Great For:
- Anyone who has handled beginner slimes and is ready to level up
- ASMR and grainy/crunchy texture lovers
- Those who want their slime more gooey than beginner slimes but less sticky than expert slimes
- Anyone who wants to practice advanced slime handling skills with a more beginner-friendly slime before moving on to our expert level.
3. EXPERT
Expert Slimes: Clear, Thick and Glossy
Explanation: Expert slimes are usually made with just glue and activator as the base which is what makes them our stickiest texture that often requires the most care and skill. Clear slimes in the expert category also include our metallic, mica powder, and glow in the dark slimes. Although stunning to look at, our expert level slimes require the most slime handling skills due to their super stretchy and sometimes sticky nature. They tend to be most affected by heat and will melt or become deactivated faster than other textures. Knowing when and how to reactivate them to maintain your desired texture and avoid stickiness is key. For these reasons, our expert slimes are generally not recommended as a first slime.
Best For:
- Seasoned slimers who are familiar with the re-activation process and feel confident in their slime handling skills
- ASMR lovers who enjoy poking, inflating, and popping
- Expert slimers who love maximum ooze and don´t mind a little extra stickiness
- Experienced slimers who want to admire the visual beauty of slime
